Kidney Stones / Stents

by Dawn Curzons

I was rushed to A&E on New Year's Eve with severe pain and was diagnosed with a 0.6 mm stone in my left Ureter. I also had a temperature of 39.2 so I was put on antibiotics and taken to the operating theater to have a stent fitted.

I was under the impression this would take away the horrendous pain I had been getting (which was worse than childbirth), but I was wrong.

I came home and continued passing blood and having kidney pain. I am due to have the stones removed in two weeks and the stent removed and I am hoping this will mean the end to the pain and the continual feeling of being unwell...

I never thought I would end up being off work for what will probably be 5 weeks!
