Intermittent Fasting

I had a kidney removed 19 months ago due to a benign tumour. At first I happily lost 15 pounds because I just did not have my normal sweet tooth. Unfortunately that changed, the sweet tooth came back and so did the weight. I want to lose it.

I heard an interesting program on CBC Radio called Quirks and Quarks about "Intermittent Fasting" and decided to try the "Fast for 16 hours - Eat for 8 hours" Fast. After a couple of days I noticed water retention (rings and shoes were tight) and the scale showed I was up 3 pounds in that 2 day period. I think it is likely due to the Intermittent Fasting, however I have not found any literature online that could explain it. I hoped to find a story or comment on this forum about Intermittent Fasting on a Single Kidney.
