My Kidney Stents Experiences After Cancer

by Deebra A.Maancia
(Long beach.U.S,Ca)

I had cervical cancer and was treated with radiation and chemotherapy. The treatments got rid of my cancer, completely, (I'm Bless) but now I am healing from the treatments and from whatever damages it had caused to my kidneys and tubes that are going into my bladder.

Kidney stents were placed inside me to relieve my kidneys. Subsequently, the stents were taken out (or so I thought). I only found out after that only the stent on my right side was taken out. The one on the left side had dislodged and dropped down, which made it harder for the doctors to remove it.

Unfortunately, due to some insurance issues at that time, I had to wait awhile longer than I should to get the left stent out. Finally I had it taken out by a very good surgeon.

I still had to have some other tubes in me but hopefully I'll be able to have surgery to replace the bad tubes that are from my kidneys to my bladder, before 2014.

I also have tubes from my kidneys going outside my back and connected to a bag, which I have to empty three or four times a day. Hopefully, I can also have these tubes removed as well. It will be like a dog that finally got its freedom from being tied up to a pole...

I would love to know how everything went and how you are doing now , as my sister is going through the exact same thing that you have gone through and she is getting very depressed. I would like to know how you are doing, so maybe I can tell her that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

From a very worried and concerned sister!!

Cancer and Kidney Stent

Thank God you have made it through, despite challenges with your health and the kidney stent on your left side.

I hope and pray that everything heals well and soon you'd be able to have the other tubes removed. Keep up the good fight and best of health to you!
