Second Kidney Stent Removal

Two weeks following the removal of a 6mm kidney stone, I prepared for kidney stent removal. Forty five (45) minutes before the procedure, I took a Valium ca.... plus two Tylenol tablets.
Glad I did! When the young nurse came in to prep me (a male patient), it was a bit of a surprise that she took my private part in her hand and inserted two needles for some easing of the process. (I now know how some women must feel when a male doctor does a pelvic exam on them!).
I was relatively comfortable the rest of the day, thanks to the Valium and another prescription pain pill I took right after the procedure. It only hurt twice (number 7 or 8 on the pain scale of 10) when the scope was in me for a few seconds... First, when it went into the bladder and when the kidney stent was extracted.
The next two days, it stung/burned when I urinated. Then, I was back to normal and life goes on as usual. Not really all that bad but, all said and done, I would have preferred to get some ice cream and go to the circus!
